The Supreme Court Collegium has intimated its proposal to appoint five Additional Judges of Karnataka High Court to be made Permanent.
The five Additional Judges are as follows:
The Centre notified the appointment of these five names as Additional Judges for Karnataka High Court in February last year subsequent to the recommendation of the Collegium comprising the then Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices J Chelameswar and Ranjan Gogoi.
Recently, Senior Advocate Maheshan Nagaprasanna was appointed as an Additional Judge in the High Court of Karnataka in November. Currently the Karnataka High Court has a working strength of 40 judges (19 permanent and 21 additional judges), as against a sanctioned strength of 62 judges.
