These four names are:

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint (i) Shri Talwant Singh, (ii) Shri Rajnish Bhatnagar, (iii) Smt. Asha Menon, and (iv) Shri Brijesh Sethi, to be Judges of the Delhi High Court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices”, the Notification dated May 22 reads.

The Supreme Court collegium had recommended their elevation as Delhi High Court Judges on May 6 after considering the inputs from colleagues familiar with the High Court’s affairs and observations made by the Department of Justice. The High Court Collegium had endorsed their elevation in November last year.

With their appointment, the working strength of the Delhi High Court rises to 40 as against a sanctioned strength of 60 judges.
