Womens Reservation may finally see the light of day Law Minister promises to table Bill in Winter Session

Law Minister Veerappa Moily has promised to table the much-delayed Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament’s Winter session. The UPA government had originally promised, as part of its election mandate, to table the bill within 100 days of assuming power. The pressure from women’s rights groups has been steadily increasing, with the Centre for Social Research spearheading a newly-launched campaign targeted at forcing the government to pass the Bill.
