Wipro’s Sonal Basu joins Talha Salaria’s L.A.W. as Partner

Sonal Basu, a Senior Corporate Counsel at Wipro, has recently joined Bangalore-based law firm Lawyers at Work (L.A.W.) Sonal has joined L.A.W. as a Partner with effect from January 8, 2014..Sonal has more than a decade of experience working in a law firm and as an in-house counsel. Initially at Wipro for about three years, Sonal joined J. Sagar Associates in Bangalore in 2006. She worked with JSA for two years after which she worked as legal advisor to Nokia before rejoining Wipro in 2010..On her decision to move back to a law firm after working in-house, Sonal said, “The in-house role has helped me understand the commercial aspects of any transaction and enabled me to meet the needs of day to day business for clients. I felt that this enriching experience can be put to even better use in a law firm, where I will get the opportunity to work for myriad clients across various industries.”.A graduate of Government Law College-Mumbai, Sonal has completed her Masters in Law from the London School of Economics..Talking about her decision to join L.A.W., Sonal said, “Talha [Salaria] has vast experience in corporate and commercial laws, with a special focus on transactional work i.e. PE and VC oriented deals.
