The Supreme Court today granted BJP candidate Arjun Singh protection from arrest from today till May 28 enabling him to be present during counting of votes on May 23.
Arjun Singh, who is contesting from Barrackpore, had moved the Court today seeking protection from arrest and had sought an urgent hearing of the matter. Singh who was formerly a Trinamool Congress leader had recently joined the BJP.
He had alleged that a number of cases were registered against him . . .
