Venue of Arbitration and the Jurisdiction of High Court: What Supreme Court held

The Supreme Court yesterday held that when a place is agreed upon by the parties as the ‘venue’ of Arbitration, only the High Court having jurisdiction over that place can entertain a petition under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (Act) seeking the appointment of an arbitrator.
