One Indiabulls Centre appears to establishing itself as the place to be for law firms. Trilegal Mumbai has announced that it will be taking up new and bigger offices in “Mumbai’s first high-end commercial development.” Khaitan & Co had also told Bar & Bench last week that the firm would be moving to Indiabulls Centre on November 1. Between November and December, Trilegal’s Bangalore and Delhi offices will also be moving into a new space.

The Delhi office is shifting from the noisy construction-filled Mathura Road to a quieter, 11,000 square feet Kailash Colony office. Anand Prasad, the founding partner at Delhi, explained the reason for the move, “The current location, while central, is surrounded by construction. There is the metro construction that has just commenced and also there is some highway construction that is happening. It takes a long time for our associates and for our clients to get to our office and out of it.”

He confirmed that Trilegal was ramping up its operations in all cities. “The economy is recovering, and work is pouring in. The new office currently has space for about 60 people, and we are negotiating for additional space.”

Amit Tambe, the Capital Markets Partner at Trilegal Mumbai, confirmed the shift to One Indiabulls Centre in Lower Parel. Trilegal is returning to Lower Parel after three years in their current office in Madhuli Road, Worli, before which they had occupied space in the Phoenix Mills complex in Lower Parel. Tambe told Bar & Bench that the Indiabulls office is a larger space than the one they are currently occupying, covering about 10,000 square feet, and being a little less than twice the size of the Madhuli Road office.

The Bangalore office is shifting from a 5,000 square feet cosy house on Ratna Avenue, a residential part of Richmond Road, to a 7,000 square feet office in the Vaishnavi Redwoods commercial complex [pictured] on Residency Road. Bar & Bench received confirmation that Trilegal has the option of leasing an additional 4,ooo square feet, when required.

Trilegal, which has a ‘best friends’ agreement with Allen & Overy, and is in the process of expanding various practice areas, including the capital markets practice, appears to be confidently anticipating a market revival and a great fiscal year.
