The petitioners contend that the Municipal Corporation wants to evict these tribals and rehabilitate them under the slum rehabilitation scheme.Out of these 27, only 20 padas have water supply. Oka J directed the Tribal Research Training Institute, Pune to prepare a report ascertaining the current situation regarding these padas for cultivation and water supply within 2 weeks.NGT had earlier declared Aarey milk colony an eco-sensitive zone. Oka, Prakash Deo Naik JJ.A suo moto PIL regarding the retention of 14 reserved plots for the judiciary in the new development plan. Neither the state nor the municipal corporation has been able to confirm or deny the reservation in the revised plan. The issue of providing security to courts and installation of water coolers in court premises is also a part of this PIL.Today in court: Justice Oka enquired about the sources of water supply in courts. The state failed to give a reply even though a separate direction was issued in the matter.The Division Bench also enquired about the power situation since heavy load shedding is being done all over the state and in order for water coolers to function continuously power backup is required.The state has been directed to inform with regard to installation of borewells in the court premises and also whether there is a policy in place for making rain water harvesting arrangements in courts.The matter has now been adjourned to April 7.6. Bombay Lawyers Association v. Union of India & Ors.[Item 47 Court 13- PIL(OS)/53/2015]Bench: A.S. Oka, Prakash Deo Naik JJA PIL seeking amendments to the Advocates Act so that lawyers with more than twenty-five years of experience are automatically designated seniors.Today in court: This PIL was rejected. Justice Oka said that the prayers in the PIL, if implemented will have disastrous consequences. He also said there was no reason why this PIL is in public interest.
