SUPREME COURT OF INDIA

• M Siddiq (D) through LRS v. Mahant Suresh Das

Item 501 in Court 1 –  Civil Appeal 10866/10867/2010

Bench: CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justices SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer

The case concerning Ram Mandir –  Babri Masjid dispute. During the last hearing, the Court had allowed for the mediation process to go on untill July 31 and had sought its report on August 1. The meditation report indicated that no final settlement could be arrived at. The day to day hearing in the case will begin today.

DELHI HIGH COURT

• Court on its own motion vs S Gurumurthy

Item no 1 in Court 33- CONT.CAS.(CRL) 17/2018 

Bench: Justices Manmohan, Sangita Dhingra Sehgal  

This a suo motu contempt case against S Gurumurthy for his tweets against sitting High Court judge Justice S Muralidhar in relation to the Gautam Navlakha order.

Today in Court: The Court accepted the unconditional apology tendered by the author of the offending article and deleted him as a party.
