Dave also issued notice to the two Italian marines, who were allowed by the Court to go to Italy to cast their vote in the elections after the Italian Ambassador had given an assurance that the marines would be sent back to India..Attorney General Goolam E. Vahanvati brought the matter to the notice of the Court during the mentioning and sought the immediate listing of the matter. He submitted that the decision of the Italian government’s refusal to return the two marines was a breach of the undertaking furnished by the Italian Ambassador..Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy, who has filed a contempt petition in the same matter, also sought to make his submissions but the Court refused to hear him saying that he would be heard when the matter is listed..The Court, after hearing the Attorney General’s submissions, issued notice and asked for replies to be filed by March 18, 2013..The Court has posted the matter for further hearing on March 18, 2013..Harish Salve, the Senior Counsel appearing for the Italian marines, has stated that he feels betrayed by the Italian government’s actions and will no longer respresent the Italian government while Diljeet Titus of Titus & Co confirmed that they will continue representing the Republic of Italy and the Italian marines.
