Supreme Court grants relief to Dhananjay Munde, stays Bombay HC order to file FIR

The Supreme Court today stayed the order of the Bombay High Court that had directed the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against NCP leader Dhananjay Munde in an alleged land grabbing case..The Vacation Bench of Justices Ajay Rastogi and Surya Kant also issued notice to the State of Maharashtra as well as the complainants in the plea filed by the leader of opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council..While granting relief to Munde, the Bench questioned the need for the Bombay High Court to exercise its jurisdiction under Article 226 in this case.
