Supreme Court gets new Creche [Read Circular]

Supreme Court of India now has a dedicated spacious creche with a capacity of 30 children. The same was inaugurated by Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra today at 1.35 pm.

The creche which was functioning in Chambers 8 and 9 of New Lawyers Chamber till today, has shifted to this new site which is on Ground Floor in New Annexe Building at the Supreme Court of India.

The new creche has a total area of 2,000 square feet and will admit up to 30 children.

Children of members of Supreme Court Bar Association, Supreme Court AoR Association, female registered clerks engaged by AoRs/ Senior Advocates, clerks of advocates, SCBA staff and officers and employees of the Registry are eligible for admission to the creche. The children have to be in the age bracket of 6 months to 6 years.

The admission fee will be Rs. 1,000 and the monthly fee will be Rs. 1,500.

A petition filed by Anindita Pujari has been instrumental in bringing about these developments. Senior Advocate Indira Jaising has been appearing for Pujari in the matter.
