Supreme Court dismisses petition to quash proceedings in Ayodhya case

In an unusual move, a petition seeking to quash the proceedings in the Ayodhya matter was taken up by the Supreme Court today.

An organisation called the Intercontinental Association of Lawyers sought for the proceedings in the Ayodhya matter to be quashed, and for a First Information Report to be filed against the appellant in the matter.

After going through the petition, a visibly perplexed and angry Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi said,
