The Supreme Court today agreed to hear the petition challenging the amendment to the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016, which allows private entities to use Aadhaar data.
The petition filed by retired Army Officer SG Vombatkere and human rights activist Bezwada Wilson in August challenged the amendment to the Act, which effectively enabled private companies to make use of Aadhaar data.
