Sunanda Pushkar case: Shashi Tharoor summoned to appear before Patiala House court

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has been summoned to appear before the Patiala House court on July 7, in connection with the case relating to the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar..Today, Judge Samar Vishal of the Patiala House court has taken cognizance of the charge sheet and documents along with it by the Special Investigation Team. The charges against Tharoor include abetment of suicide under Section 306 of IPC and of committing cruelty under Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code..The court today found that there are sufficient grounds to proceed against Shashi Tharoor for the commission of offences under Sections 306 and 498A of IPC..Subramanian Swamy appeared before the court today to argue on his application under Section 302 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
