We are the only Indo-US bilateral chamber and IACC acts as a link between the business communities of India and the US”..“I think India is about to embark upon a new phase of reforms and it will be interesting to see how it all turns out in the next year. Obviously, the US business community is watching keenly whether India can implement the next phase of reforms or not”, said Mandal..There are more than 2000 members all over India representing a wide spectrum of business and economic segments..Talking about the various activities of the Chamber Mandal said, “We share the views of the Industry with the government on different aspects and try to bring about a collective view. We also have specific forums for sectors like education, entertainment, IT, finanacial services including insurance etc. Those are some of the sectors where we would like to increase the activity of our forums and also add new forums for interaction in other sectors”..Mandal further added, “We would also definitely like to interact with the government on the issue of entry of foreign law firms to discuss what the government plans to do in this area and we will see whether next stage of reforms will cover this sector”..Both countries are also working on the bilateral investment treaty and are also gearing up for an early conclusion of a double taxation avoidance treaty for social security.
