RS Jhala J. made permanent Judge of Rajasthan HC, Karnataka HC gets two Addl Judges [Read Notifications]

The Centre today notified the appointment of Justice Ramchandra Singh Jhala as a permanent judge of the Rajasthan High Court. Through another order issued simultaneously, the appointment of Justices Mohammad Nawaz and Harekoppa Thimmanna Gowda Narendra Prasad as additional judges of the Karnataka High Court has also been notified..Justice RS Jhala’s was given preference for being made a permanent judge by the Supreme Court Collegium last month, taking into consideration that he is due to retire soon. He has been serving as an additional judge of the Rajasthan High Court. The notification issued today states,.“In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Ramachandra Singh Jhala, Addititional Judge of the Rajasthan High Court, to be a Judge of the Rajasthan High Court with effect from the date he asumes charge of his office.”.Further, two additional judges have also been appointed to the Karnataka High Court for a period of two years, invoking the President’s powers under Article 224 of the Constitution.
