Rohatgi’s appointment as AG cleared while Gopal Subramanium’s elevation to the Bench uncertain

Putting an end to much speculation, the government has cleared the appointment of Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi as the new Attorney General for the country. As per a report in the Times of India, the official notification shall be released at the end of this week, after Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad approve the appointment today.
