RecTracker: 66 students placed out of 72 in NUJS’ Class of ’13; AMSS picks up 13 while A&O, Herbert Smith hire 2 each [UPDATED]

The National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (NUJS) has placed 66 students out of the 72 students who sat for recruitment from the Class of 2013. The total batch strength of the Class of ’13 is 100. Of the 66 students who were placed in various organisations, 3 students have secured judicial clerkships in the Supreme Court. Another 7 students have opted for litigation, bringing the total number of students employed at 73..Amarchand Mangaldas was the biggest recruiter with 13 hires, while Allen & Overy, and Herbert Smith picked up 2 students each. Anand and Anand, and ICICI Bank hired 3 students each from the Class of ’13..The NUJS Recruitment Committee was a 13 member body with Jeet Chaudhuri and Abhijnan Jha as its co-ordinators. Speaking to Bar & Bench, Jeet Chaudhuri said that this year, ‘You get what you want’ was our moto! For example, a couple of students were keen on pursuing IP litigation (a very niche choice) and we assisted them in getting a position at Anand & Anand, India’s leading IP law firm.
