RBI should not hide information that might embarrass banks: SC cracks whip on ‘absurd’ arguments

The Supreme Court today held that the Reserve Bank of India is duty bound to comply with the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005. The court was hearing RBI’s appeals  against orders of the Central Information Commission directing the RBI to provide information sought for.
