The Supreme Court today fixed the hearing of the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid case on and from August 2..A short order to that effect was passed by the Constitution Bench after considering the report filed by Chairperson of the Mediation Committee, Justice FMI Kalifulla..The matter was heard by a Constitution Bench comprising Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi and Justices SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer..The Court, after perusing the report, stated that it will not put the contents of the report on record since the mediation proceedings are confidential..It then proceeded to post the matter for hearing on August 2..“However, taking into account what has been brought to our notice by the said report, we now fix the hearing of the cases on and from 2.8.2019.
