This is to secure independence of the CBI and this has been violated by the present order..– Section 4A and 4B provides for a High powered committee of the Prime Minister, the Leader of Opposition and the Chief Justice of India for the purpose of appointment/transfer of CBI Director. This has been bypassed by the Centre in this case..– The Supreme Court has stated repeatedly that the CBI ought to be insulated from the government.
