Quality of legislation, vaguely worded statutes big concern, says Justice Jasti Chelameswar

Bar & Bench September 4 2016

The Supreme Court of India's Jasti Chelameswar J. has said that "poorly drafted statutes" with vague, ambiguous language have become a cause of concern.

He was speaking at the 8th SILF Law Teachers Day Award function organised by the Society of Indian Law Firms and the Menon Institute of Legal Advocacy Training.

Justice Chelameswar said that legislative drafting is one area which has not been given due importance and the same should be addressed.
