The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) today passed a resolution urging that all Public Interest Litigation petitions should be heard by the CJI or Collegium Judges..Addressing a press conference in the Supreme Court lawns, SCBA President Vikas Singh stated that the Bar Association has passed two resolutions:.The issues between judges should be taken up and resolved in a full court meeting of the Supreme Court.All PIL matters including pending PIL petitions should be either taken up by the CJI, or if he has to assign to any other Bench, it should be assigned to judges in the Collegium..Henceforth, a norm should be put in place to ensure that all PIL petitions are heard by first five courts..Another lawyers’ association, the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA) also came out with a statement today, urging the stakeholders to resolve their issues internally..If this resolution is adopted by the Supreme Court then Judge Loya PIL that is pending before Justice Arun Mishra will have to be heard by one of the Judges of the collegium..Read the Resolution
