NLU Jodhpur to host round-table on IP protection for pharmaceuticals Two-day event to bring together academicians legal experts and policy specialists

The Ministry of HRD Chair on IPR at National Law University, Jodhpur (NLU J) is organising a symposium on ‘The Emerging Legal and Policy Landscape of Intellectual Property Protection for Pharmaceuticals in India’. The symposium shall be held from March 17 to 18, 2012 at the NLU J campus..As per the press release, this UGC sponsored event is expected to bring academicians, legal experts and policy specialists from across India working on intellectual property law and related policy issues. The aim of the roundtable symposium is to generate and encourage dialogue on the critical issues concerning intellectual property protection for pharmaceutical inventions especially in light of the emerging scenario in the Post- TRIPS world..By bringing together some of the prominent experts in this area, the symposium will provide a good forum to exchange valuable information, ideas and experiences in articulating legal and policy issues on IP protection for pharmaceuticals in India..Speaking to Bar & Bench, NLU J’s Asst. Professor and coordinator of the IP Chair Yogesh Pai (pictured left), says that this symposium is part of the IP Chair’s annual plan. Preparations for this event began nearly two months ago.
