NGT stays MoEF Notification 'diluting' pollution emission standards [Read Order]January 10 2019
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has stayed a notification issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF) passed in October 2017, concerning the emission of pollutants, particularly from sewage treatment plants.
The Bench of Chairperson AK Goel, Judicial Members SP Wangdi and K Ramakrishnan, and Expert Member Nagin Nanda issued the stay after one Nitin Shankar Deshpande moved an application alleging that the latest notification on permissible pollutant emissions are likely to add to widespread degradation of water . . .
