A lawyer practicing in the district courts of Delhi, Suhas Joshi, has filed a petition against online retailer Snapdeal and Adult wellness products company Ohmysecrets. Their crime? Selling products like anal lubes, anal sprays, and massagers. .Joshi has argued that the sale of these products amounts to the abetment of acts prohibited under Section 377 of the IPC, and for violation of 292, 292A, 293, 294 of IPC and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000..Suhas, who is also an Advocate on Record in the Supreme Court, argues that products such as lubes promote anal sex, an act that is prohibited by Section 377 of the IPC.
