Justice Rohinton Nariman who retired as Supreme Court judge on Thursday has authored a book Discordant Notes, Volume 1: The Voice of Dissent in the Last Court of Last Resort..Interestingly, he revealed that the first six weeks of COVID induced lockdown was when he found time to write the book since the Supreme Court had just switched to virtual mode of functioning and only limited number of Benches were sitting to hear cases. “In the first 6 week of the pandemic, we were incarcerated with nothing to do. I did intense research, and I wrote this book,” he said..He was speaking at a farewell function organised for him by the Bombay Bar Association..He also said that the basis of the book was his speech at the Justice KT Desai Memorial Lecture in which he had spoken about the “four dissenters of Supreme Court”.."He was a star among all my juniors; great honour for me to practice before him:" AG KK Venugopal on Justice Rohinton Nariman.Justice Nariman also gave the attendees a sneak into the contents of the book.
