The Delhi High Court is set to function with a new Judges Roster with effect from August 23, 2019..With the retirement of Justice Sunil Gaur on August 22, the strength of the Delhi High Court shall come down to 37 judges..With the exceptions of Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani, Justices Sanjeev Narula and IS Mehta joining Division Bench II headed by Justice GS Sistani, Division Bench IV headed by Justice Vipin Sanghi and Division Bench VI headed by Justice Siddharth Mridul, respectively, the composition of the other Division Benches remains unmodified..While Division Bench III comprising Justices S Muralidhar and Talwant Singh shall now hear writ petitions pertaining to co-operative societies, service order from CAT up to the year 2015, DRT, DRAT, Lokayukta, orders passed by the High court on its administrative side etc. and Division Bench IV shall now hear tax matters, writ petitions pertaining to land acquisition, company appeals, contempt appeals, the jurisdiction of other Division Benches, i.e. I,II, V, VI, VII, remains the same..Division Benches I, II, III, IV shall also function as the Commercial Appellate Division..The Commercial Division shall now consist of the six Benches of a single Judge each. The Judges which will hear original side matters are Justices Rajiv Sahai Endlaw as Judge-in-charge, JR Midha, Mukta Gupta, V Kameswar Rao, Jyoti Singh and Prateek Jalan..The Criminal jurisdiction shall now consist of Benches of a single Judge each, presided by Justices Suresh Kumar Kait, Vibhu Bakhru, Chander Shekhar, Anu Malhotra, Manoj Kumar Ohri, Rajnish Bhatnagar and Brijesh Sethi..The Civil jurisdiction shall be exercised by ten Benches of a single Judge each with Justice Prathiba M Singh dealing with civil miscellaneous matters.
