Wadia Ghandy hires ALMT Partner Subashini Radhakrishnan as Corporate Partner; Plans to restructure Delhi office

ALMT Legal Partner Subashini Radhakrishnan has recently resigned from the firm to join Wadia Ghandy & Co as a Partner in Mumbai, confirmed Wadia Ghandy Joint Managing Partner Dhawal Mehta. She will be part of the firm’s Corporate and Banking & Finance practice. She will join the firm on January 1, 2015..On her decision to join Wadia Ghandy, Subashini commented, “This is a great opportunity for me at this point of time in my career.”.Subashini, who was promoted to partnership last year, had joined ALMT in 2010 from the Hyderabad office of Fox Mandal. Her past work experience also includes a short stint practicing before the courts in Chennai. She is a graduate of University of Madras..Dhawal Mehta also told Bar & Bench that the firm is looking at restructuring its Delhi office. Litigation Partners Bindi Dave and Kunal Vajani will lead the firm’s Delhi office along with Delhi Partner Amit Sethi. Dave and Vajani along with Dhawal Mehta and Farid Karachiwala will focus on developing the firm’s litigation practice in Delhi..Mehta said, “Delhi being a hub of litigation matters, we would like to focus and develop our Delhi litigation practice. We will also expand our Delhi team and hire about 10-12 lawyers.”.Recently, the firm had also closed down its Bangalore office with the exit of its Bangalore Partner Ankit Majmudar. Dhawal commented, “Ankit was looking after the firm’s private equity practice and was delivering to the clients from Bangalore. The firm didn’t have too much of a regional presence.”.“So our whole focus has been to re-establish relations with our existing private equity clients, who were being handled by Ankit,” said Mehta..He added, “Our Corporate Partner Ashish Ahuja along with other partners will now focus more on the firm’s private equity practice. The partners are re-establishing relations with our existing private equity clients and most of our clients have expressed the desire to continue working with us.”.“However, in 2015, we want to focus our energies on building our Delhi office,” said Mehta.
