Dr Anand Rai, the whistleblower in the Vyapam scam, has approached the Supreme Court after he was arrested by the Madhya Pradesh Police in connection with the paper leak of the Madhya Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (MPTET)..The case against Rai was filed by the Chief Minister’s Officer on Special Duty, Laxman Singh Markam.The Madhya Pradesh High Court had earlier vacated its order granting interim protection to Rai. Following the same, Rai was arrested from Delhi on Thursday. The plea by Rai was mentioned before Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana by Senior Advocate Vivek Tankha."The whistle blower has been arrested even though the principal accused is on bail milords," Tankha said, seeking urgent listing of the matter. "We will list this on Monday," the CJI responded..According to Times Now, Rai and Congress leader KK Mishra had alleged that the question paper of MPTET was leaked on social media from Markam's phone. Markam then filed a complaint against Rai and Mishra accusing them of sharing misleading information and claimed that they had shared screenshots of another person with his name. A first information report was registered against Rai based on Markam's complaint.
