VP Vaish J. transferred to Allahabad HC, Satrughana Pujahari J. to Madras HC

Through two notifications issued today, the Government has effected the transfer of two High Court judges – Justice Ved Prakash Vaish and Justice Satrughana Pujahari.

Justice Ved Prakash Vaish of the Meghalaya High Court has been transferred to the Allahabad High Court, whereas Justice Satrughana Pujahari of the Orissa High Court has been transferred to the Madras High Court.

Justice VP Vaish graduated in 1984. In the same year, he enrolled with the Delhi Bar Council. He joined the Delhi Higher Judicial Service in 1997. He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court on April 17, 2013. He took up charge as a judge of the Meghalaya High Court on May 23, 2016

Justice Satrughana Pujahari obtained his law degree from Lal Lajpat Ray Law College in 1986. He enrolled with the Odisha Bar in 1987. In 2003, Justice Pujahari joined as a 2nd Additional District and Sessions Judge, Berhampur. He has served as a District and Sessions Judge at Jeypore, Puri and Cuttack, Chairman of the Odisha Sales Tax Tribunal, Member Secretary of the Cuttack Legal Services Authority and Principal Secretary to the Law department of the Government of Odisha. On November 29, 2013, he was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Orissa High Court.

Both judges are expected to assume charge on or before November 28, 2017.
