The Supreme Court today accepted the suggestion made by Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi and ordered that a floor test be held in the Uttarakhand Assembly on May 10, between 11 am and 1 pm..The Bench of Dipak Misra and Shiva Kirti Singh JJ. also directed that the entire proceedings of the floor test be videographed and that the records of the same be submitted to the Supreme Court. The Court also said that the nine disqualified MLAs shall not be allowed to participate in the floor test..Further, the Court has asked the Chief Secretary and the DGP of Uttarakhand to ensure that all qualified members are able to attend the Assembly on May 10 and no hindrance is caused to anyone to appear..The voting shall be by show of hands and will be counted by the Principal Secretary of the Legislative Assembly..The results of the floor test are to be placed before the Supreme court in a sealed cover, along with the records of the proceedings..President’s rule shall remain suspended in the State from 11 am to 1 pm on May 10. The Governor shall remain in charge of the State during that time.
