Ten grounds on which Aryan Khan has sought exemption from appearance before NCB Mumbai

Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, and prime accused in the cruise ship drug case has approached the Bombay High Court seeking relaxation of the bail condition directing him to appear before Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai office every Friday..Khan has sought exemption citing the following ten grounds:That he has assiduously and scrupulously complied with bail conditions;That he has visited the NCB office every Friday as was directed by the High Court in the order stating conditions. He visited the office on November 5, 12, 19, 26 and December 3 and 10, 2021; That he responded to the summons of the Special Investigation Team, NCB New Delhi be visiting the Kharghar office of the NCB Mumbai zonal unit; That no further statement was recorded since November 12 after the case was taken over the SIT NCB New Delhi; There is no likelihood for the Mumbai office to interrogate him and as a consequence, no point for his attendance to their office every Friday; That he is relentlessly accosted by large number of media personnel, extensively photographed and questioned while visiting the NCB office;That a large number of police officials are deployed for law and order situation. If the bail condition is relaxed then, that can be dispensed with; Grounds for parity with co-accused Manish Rajgadiya whose weekly presence was dispensed with; That he has firm roots in the society and will appear as and when summoned; That he is a student from a reputed family and wants to lead an honourable and dignified life..The application is likely to be listed before Justice Nitin Sambre on December 13, 2021..Khan was taken into custody by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 2, 2021 after a cruise ship en route to Goa from Mumbai was raided for drugs. He was placed under arrest on October 3 and charged with offences under Section 8(c), 20(b), 27, 28, 29 and 35 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act..The High Court had on October 28, 2021 allowed the bail plea filed by Khan and co-accused Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha in the cruise ship drug case.The next day, the High Court had released a bail order setting out 13 conditions to be fulfilled by the three accused.
