Triple-murder case: Supreme Court tells UP to immediately decide remission plea by ex-BSP MLA Uday Bhan Singh

On April 29, the top court had set aside the State's decision to deny remission to the former Bahujan Samajwadi Party MLA on the ground that he had been convicted of three murders.

The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government to expeditiously take a decision on the remission plea by former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Uday Bhan Singh, who had been convicted in a 1999 triple-murder case [Uday Bhan Singh @ Doctor Singh v. Deepak Kumar].
