The Supreme Court has launched a revamped, larger crèche facility on its premises for the benefit of young lawyers and court staff with children..The expanded child care facility was inaugurated this morning by Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud.Speaking about the development in open court, CJI Chandrachud observed that while the earlier crèche was about 200 square meters in size and could accommodate 30 children, the new one is close to 400 square meters and could accommodate nearly 100 children. .Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who was present in the Court, said that even the earlier facility was generally filled with children."Oh yes, It is always packed. Our staff seek extensions to avail it," CJI Chandrachud replied.He urged all to visit the new facility, which he mentioned has sleeping and feeding areas as well."Please check it, it is in the new additional building complex. It is beautiful ...
