Supreme Court rejects appeal by RGNUL Patiala against P&H High Court order to charge only for 50% hostel fees for COVID period

A bench of Justices BR Gavai and Vikram Nath dismissed the appeal filed by university against the High Court ruling that had also directed a refund of the excess amount charged.

The Supreme Court on Friday refused to interfere with a November 2022 order of the Punjab & Haryana High Court that had directed the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) at Patiala to charge only half the usual hostel fees from students for the COVID period [Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law vs State of Punjab And ors].
