The Supreme Court today directed BJP MP Manoj Tiwari to file an affidavit explaining his conduct in the Delhi Sealing matter..Tiwari had allegedly broken the seal of a sealed property in Delhi in violation of the Supreme Court’s order. The Monitoring Committee overlooking the sealing drive initiated contempt proceedings against Tiwari consequently..The Bench of Justices Madan Lokur, Deepak Gupta and S Abdul Nazeer was visibly upset over the conduct displayed by Tiwari..Senior Counsel Vikas Singh appearing for Tiwari told the Court that the contempt proceedings “have nothing to do with the Supreme Court’s order.“.Justice Lokur, however, intercepted and asked Singh if he had seen the CD which contains footage of Tiwari making comments about Delhi Sealing..“How can you [Vikas Singh] say that the allegations have nothing to do with our order when you have not seen the CD?.In the CD, Manoj Tiwari is seen saying that there are more than a thousand places that deserve to be sealed.“.Singh claimed that these proceedings were an attempt at seeking publicity using the Court’s order. The Bench immediately asked “who might be seeking publicity from this”. Singh responded that it was the Monitoring Committee seeking publicity..Disregarding this claim, the Court told Singh to file an affidavit within a week.
