Supreme Court junks plea seeking poll campaign rights for undertrial politicians in jail
The Court called the plea malafide and said that it appeared to be about one particular politician, alluding to AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal who is presently in jail in connection with the excise policy case.
The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a plea seeking directions to allow politicians who are in jail as undertrial prisoners to campaign for elections via video conference [Amarjeet Gupta v Election Commission of India & Ors].
