A Supreme Court Bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra is sitting from 4 pm to 8 pm today to hear a case.
Aside from Justice Misra, who is set to take over the as the next Chief Justice of India, the Bench also consists of Justices Amitava Roy and AM Khanwilkar.
The matter relates to approval of and admission to Medical colleges by an Overseeing Committee. A battery of senior lawyers are also appearing in the matter, including Senior Advocates Kapil Sibal and Salman Khurshid.
This is not first time Justice Misra is sitting beyond court hours.
It was a Bench headed by him who sat at 3 am in 2015 to decide the case on Yakub Memon’s execution.
