The Supreme Court today imposed costs of Rs. 50,000 on Bihar politician Tejashwi Yadav for wasting precious judicial time by challenging the de-allotment of a government bungalow occupied by him..The order was passed by a Bench of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Deepak Gupta and Sanjeev Khanna..Yadav had been allotted the bungalow by the Bihar govenrment during his tenure as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar when Nitish Kumar was ruling in alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal..After the alliance broke up, Yadav was asked to vacate the bungalow. He approached the Patna High Court, which directed him to vacate the bungalow meant for the Deputy CM and move into the leader of the opposition’s accommodation. He then moved the Supreme Court in appeal against this order..Senior Counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi represented Yadav in Supreme Court..The Court dismissed the appeal and also proceeded to impose costs on Yadav. The order reads:.“We are not inclined to interfere with the order impugned in the special leave petition.
