The Supreme Court on Tuesday recommended the names of two additional judges of the Telangana High Court for being made permanent judges..The names of Justices Jaggannagari Sreenivasa Rao and Namavarapu Rajeshwar Rao have been so proposed, as per a resolution uploaded on the official website of the top court today..The High Court Collegium had on February 13 this year recommended their appointment as permanent judges, following which the Telangana Chief Minister and Governor concurred.As per the Memorandum of Procedure, judges of the Supreme Court conversant with the affairs of the Telangana High Court were then consulted to assess the suitability of the candidates.Further, a two-judge committee evaluated the judgments of the two High Court judges, and rated the quality of the same as good.The Collegium, after scrutinising the material on record and the opinion of the consultee judges and the committee, found the candidates fit and suitable for being appointed permanent judges..[Read resolution]
