Did separatists exchange defaced currency at RBI? Supreme Court seeks status report from CBI
A Bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan said that the issues is a sensitive one and asked counsel representing the Union government the RBI and the CBI about whether any action has been taken yet.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file a status report in response to a public interest litigation (PIL) flagging the alleged exchange of defaced currency of separatists at the Jammu branch of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) [Satish Bhardwaj v. Union of India and ors].
