The Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record (SCAORA) Association on Monday has condemned Forbes India's decision to publish a list of top 25 Advocates-on-Record..A resolution passed by the Executive Committee of the SCAORA on Monday, said that the bar body received a complaint regarding Forbes Power List of top 25 lawyers.Such a list, the SCAORA said, was 'misleading and unauthorised information'."The Executive Committee of SCAORA has received a complaint regarding a document titled as “Forbes Power List” Top 25 Advocate on Record. After having deliberated upon it, SCAORA unanimously resolves that SCAORA condemn such misleading and unauthorized information being spread by an organization, as the same amounts to clear case of misrepresentation and undermines the interests of Advocates on Record of the Hon’ble Supreme Court," the resolution signed by SCAORA secretary Devvrat said. The association requested that judges of the top court to take note of the matter in the larger interest of legal professionals..The list in question is the third such annual list by Forbes India. According to the official website, winners in the the category along with those of in-house lawyers, individual lawyers, managing partners, law firms, general counsel, advocates-on-record, and law firm management professionals are to be announced sometime in the last week of February.The nomination for the same requires a fee of ₹30,000, which has been set at ₹20,000 as an early bird offer.
