A court in Bengaluru on Monday granted bail to Karnataka Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) HD Revanna in the kidnapping case connected to the sexual abuse allegations against his son and Lok Sabha member Prajwal Revanna..Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge Santhosh Gajanan Bhat allowed the bail plea on the condition that HD Revanna execute a personal bond for ₹5 lakh with two sureties to the satisfaction of the jurisdictional court..The Court also imposed the following bail conditions:a) HD Revanna shall not threaten and tamper with the prosecution witnesses or the complainant and victim. b) He shall not evade the Investigation and shall appear before the investigating officer (IO) whenever called by him for the purpose of investigation. c) He shall furnish his passport to the Court and shall not leave the State Court without obtaining written permission from the Court. d) He shall not enter KR Nagar Taluk or the permanent place of residence of the victim directly or indirectly till further orders. e) He shall appear before the IO on every second Sunday of the month and mark his attendance between 9.00 am to 5.00 pm for a period of 6 months or till the filing of chargesheet, whichever is earlier. f) He shall not indulge in similar offence. .HD Revanna was arrested by the SIT after being denied interim anticipatory bail.According to a report by The Hindu, HD Revanna was booked on the complaint alleging kidnapping of one of the victims of his son Prajwal Revanna.The news report said the victim worked as a house help at HD Revanna’s residence and was kidnapped to prevent her from testifying against Prajwal Revanna.The sexual abuse allegations against son Prajwal Revanna emerged after over 2,900 videos depicting the sexual assault of several women were recently circulated on social media. The SIT led by senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer BK Singh is probing the case and has summoned Prajwal Revanna. Amid the outrage, Prajwal Revanna is said to have fled to Germany soon after the April 26 polls in Karnataka. He has not yet appeared before the SIT.On May 8, HD Revanna was sent to judicial custody till May 14 on conclusion of the three-day custody granted to Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is probing the allegations against the Janata Dal (Secular) leaders.
