The hearing in the Jaypee Infratech case at the Supreme Court today witnessed an interesting incident as Attorney General for India KK Venugopal took objection to what he termed “six senior counsel making submissions together”.

The Senior Advocates appearing for various parties were eager to put across their point since a modification of the earlier order was under consideration.

When their submission became increasingly vociferous, Venugopal raised his voice and said,

“This is the first time that six Senior Counsel are speaking together in CJI’s court with nobody being able to understand what each of them are saying.”

Things quietened down a bit after that and the hearing continued, with the Court modifying its earlier order.
