Section 6A Citizenship Act was intended to cut short violence in Assam post Bangladesh liberation: Supreme Court

"Cannot the Parliament say that to bring peace to a strife-ridden State, we are not doing this in other States. Situation in Assam was such that there was so much violence," the Court observed.
