Schools should not insist on TCs from previous institutions to admit students: Madras High Court

A bench of Justices SM Subramaniam and C Kumarappan also said schools must be prohibited from making unnecessary entries related to non-payment or delayed payment of school fees in TCs.

Schools must not misuse a student’s Transfer Certificate (TC) as a “tool to collect arrears” of fees, the Madras High Court said on Friday while directing the Tamil Nadu government to issue a circular to school managements across the State instructing them not to insist upon production of TCs from previous institutions to admit new students.
