The Supreme Court of India today dismissed a petition praying that parliamentary constituencies be formed in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit Baltistan.

A Bench of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Deepak Gupta and Aniruddha Bose dismissed the plea by former RAW officers, stating that it is “ex facie untenable”.

The Bench proceeded to dismiss the petition with costs of Rs. 20,000.

The petitioner had cited the fact there are twenty-four assembly constituencies already in existence in PoK and Gilgit Baltistan.
