The Court also directed the Delhi Legal Services Authority to render assistance to the lady. Advocate Vandana Seghal, who appeared as amicus curiae in the matter, informed the court that the woman’s condition was stable. The case will now be taken up on October 10..Former Australian High Court judge to preside in arbitration between Reliance and Oil Min.The Supreme Court has appointed former Australian High Court judge, Michael Kirby as the third and presiding arbitrator in the dispute between Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and the Oil ministry, reports Mint. The dispute relates to the gas fields in the KG Basin wherein the government is seeking to impose penalty on Reliance for failing to deliver the required output. Senior Advocate Harish Salve appeared for Reliance while the Centre was represented by Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar. Earlier Australian judge Michael McHugh had been selected but his name was later withdrawn after objections were raised by the Centre. Justices SP Bharucha and VN Khare are the other two arbitrators.
